This is the Filter Media Refill Pack for Desiccant Dryer Filter Capsules.
Your Washing Machine Enhancer is most effective at producing activated oxygen when the air it uses has low humidity, so it’s important to replace your Desiccant Dryer Media whenever the beads turn pink. Most users can expect to do this about once a year, but if your laundry room is exposed to non-conditioned air or if you have high humidity for other reasons, you might need to replace the Media even more frequently.
While the manufacturers do not explicitly list the bead weight in their product descriptions, most applications use around 4 ounces (or 1/4 pound) per refill. This aligns with standard desiccant unit measurements, where 1 unit is equivalent to 1 ounce of silica gel which is sufficient to protect about 1 cubic foot of enclosed space under moderate humidity. Most cartridge is sized to handle ambient air intake for laundry use, which typically requires around 3–4 units.
Using 4 ounces of indicating silica gel beads should match the original capacity when the only substrate used is the silica beads. If your Dryer Filter also contains Montmorillonite Clay Desiccant (gray granules), you will use roughly 1 ounce along with only 3 ounces of the silica gel beads. Each Refill packs contain slightly more to account for spillage and/or slightly larger cartridges. Your choice of 1 to 4 Refill Packs.
Each Filter Media Refill Pack contains the below:
- Approx 2 oz of Montmorillonite Clay Desiccant (gray granules) = 1 Media Change
- 4 ounces of Silica Gel Desiccant Beads (blue beads) = 1 Media Change
